AppLedger is designed primarily as a fast, native-feeling desktop application for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.
By default, AppLedger stores task data in a local SQLite database file on your desktop for air-gapped privacy. Organizations can also connect internal PostgreSQL endpoints for multi-user team sync.
Yes. AppLedger provides task-scoped Guest accounts with read-only permissions. External clients can view project progress, milestone completion, and status updates without granting them edit privileges or exposing internal company boards (enforced by Row Level Security).
When AppLedger launches, the desktop app will include a background auto-update engine. When a new release is published, the app silently downloads the update in the background and prompts you to restart when ready — no manual installer downloads required.
AppLedger runs as an air-gapped desktop application with optional secure cloud sync, allowing complete operational privacy for enterprise environments.
AppLedger enforces granular authorization across 5 tiers: CEO, Admin, Manager, Lead, Member, and Guest, ensuring team members only access designated project boundaries.
